You wanna feel good about life, like the future is bright, as well as a little bit of sweet nostalgia? You can! While listening to extraordinary, veteran talent, you will be thoroughly satisfied as you experience the harmonies and genuine musical integrity of Pam Loe & Hipshot. This band has been together for over 25 years, weaving together a wide variety of musical styles that range from Pop Country, down-home traditional Country and Bluegrass, through timeless Standards, Folk favorites and Classic Rock and Roll.
Though Pam was heavily influenced by Folk, R&B and Rock and Roll in her early years, she most certainly knew and loved the music of Bob Wills, Hank Williams, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Lorretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, and Emmy Lou Harris. Having roots in Texas, it only made sense that Pam Loe & Hipshot should begin to emerge shortly after the release of the 1980 movie Urban Cowboy starring John Travolta.
That soundtrack included Johnny Lee’s “Lookin’ for Love in All the Wrong Places”, Ann Murray’s “Could I Have This Dance For The Rest of My Life”, the bluegrass classic “Orange Blossom Special” and “The Devil Went Down To Georgia.” America’s love for Country music was again set on fire and the flames were fanned by the emergence of Randy Travis, George Strait, Dwight Yoakum, Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, and The Judds.
You’ll hear all those songs and artists when you come to hear the Pam Loe and Hipshot band as well as the great new songs of the century destined to be classics as well. “Life is Good Today –Zac Brown Band, “I Love This Bar” – Toby Keith, “’It Happens” by Sugarland, and “The House That Built Me” by Miranda Lambert.
The Pam Loe & Hipshot band has played thousands of venues where the billings have proudly included The Judds, Dolly Parton, Michael Martin Murphey, John Schneider, John Anderson and Patty Loveless. That’s because this band is comprised of the absolute finest musicians and talented vocalists for the perfect blend, whether in an acoustic setting or fully amplified for the dance party atmosphere.
The musicians in Hipshot have been with Pam throughout the band’s successful 25 years of entertainment. The core group has been Chad Watson-bass, mandolin, trombone, vocals (also with Charlie Rich, Freddy Fender, Janis Ian),Vern Monnett-electric guitar, vocals (also with Randy Meisner of The Eagles, Gary Allan, Texas Tornadoes),Candy Girard-fiddle/violin, vocals, and Brad Swanson-drums, vocals (also with Delaney Bramlet, Abbott Kinney and sole owner of Swansound Music Studios.)
